1970 Mustang coupe

I bought this '70 coupe and haven't touched it for years. I found out that you can buy cars already finished for a lot less then you will spend restoring your own, and who wants a coupe anyway? (well they aren't that bad!)

..but it was the car that started my love of old Mustangs. I had a new floor, inner fenders, engine mounts, trunk, wheel wells put in. The quarter panels were fitted but never installed. I stripped the interior out and put it into dry mouse free storage where it still sits today.

The car is unique with a Grande style vinyl roof but it is a coupe. I tracked most of the cars history down in one day. It was a Saskatchewan car new, had 3 owners there, then came to Ontario in 1989 by two brothers who got a job at a machine shop in Toronto. Then was sold shortly after to a co-worker son who drove it for a few years and started to buy parts for its restoration. The co-workers son also owned "The British Car Connection" and got bored with it. By about 2000 he sold it to one of my co-workers who passed it on to me.

It had a 351W in it originally but over the years gained a 390 mid-block. Luckily the "British" guy had tracked down a 1970 351w car engine and passed it down with a FMX tranny. A few months after I got the car I had found some other stuff to do so the car joined the interior and has been enjoying a peaceful time since. Maybe one day I will resurrect this fine old girl and give her life again.
